Simon Wood is a London based, international circus artist with a wide range of aerial and ground skills and an in depth understanding of corde lisse/aerial rope and aerial silks. First starting at the Lunar Circus in Western Australia, Simon then moved to Europe to continue training and has spent time in the UK, Italy and Sweden honing his skills.
Simon is an accomplished performer. Having trained all over the world, he has performed at both Glastonbury Festival and the Western Australian Circus Festival, as well as for Thames TV as a guest aerialist for Britain’s Got Talent. He has been in multiple companies performing in shows at Perth Fringe Festival and also frequently works with London-based, contemporary circus company Upswing. His acts combine elements from dance and circus to make pieces with dynamic changes and creative movement.
Also an experienced teacher, Simon has taught throughout the UK, Australia, Ireland and Portugal. He is a guest teacher at Salto International Circus School (Maia, Portugal) as well as teaching regular classes in London and, when in Australia, in Perth. Students often cite his strong technical focus, logical progressions and skill breakdowns, along with his warm personality as being the highlight of his classes and workshops.
