Simon Wood is a Perth based, international circus artist with a wide range of aerial and ground skills and an in depth understanding of corde lisse/aerial rope and aerial silks. First starting at the Lunar Circus in Western Australia, Simon then moved to Europe to continue training and has since spent time in the UK, Italy and Sweden.

Simon is an accomplished performer. Having trained all over the world, he has performed at both Glastonbury Festival and the Western Australian Circus Festival, for Thames TV as a guest aerialist for Britain’s Got Talent, and London-based contemporary circus company Upswing. In Perth, he has worked with CIRCA and MAXIMA Circus in Perth Festival, Steamworks Arts in SITU8 at the State Theatre Centre, and is a regular performer with Fliptease. His acts combine elements from dance and circus to make pieces with dynamic changes and creative movement.

Also an experienced teacher, Simon has taught throughout the UK, Australia, Ireland and Portugal. He is a guest teacher at Salto International Circus School (Maia, Portugal) as well as teaching regular classes at circus schools in Perth or London. Students often cite his strong technical focus, logical progressions and skill breakdowns, along with his warm personality as being the highlight of his classes and workshops.
